Atlantic Freightlines Limited is currently seeking 2 experienced and safety-focused Class 1 Licensed Truck Drivers to join our team based in Bedford, Nova Scotia. If you are a reliable professional with a strong commitment to safety and efficiency, we invite you to apply.

Position: Class 1 Truck Driver (Full-Time, Permanent)
Positions Available: 2
Hourly Pay Rate: $35.00 per hour
Location: Bedford, Nova Scotia (In-person, on-site)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely drive and operate a tractor-trailer to haul goods and materials over various routes.
  • Conduct pre-trip, on-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicle systems, including tires, lights, signals, brakes, and refrigeration units.
  • Ensure all loads have proper clearances, permits, and are secured in accordance with safety requirements and regulations.
  • Plan trips effectively and obtain all necessary documentation for the transport of goods.
  • Strictly comply with all hours-of-service (HOS) regulations and laws.
  • Document and report all safety-related equipment defects immediately to company dispatch and, when applicable, to the customer.
  • Communicate professionally and clearly with dispatchers, other drivers, and customers using provided communication devices and on-board computers.

Requirements:

  • Valid Class 1 Driver’s License with a clean abstract.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience driving a tractor-trailer.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of and commitment to provincial and federal transport regulations.
  • Ability to perform thorough vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Reliability and a strong professional work ethic.

Schedule & Availability:

  • Full-time, permanent position.
  • Flexibility is required. Availability for weekdays, weekends, and flexible shifts is essential.
